An older locksmith working at his bench in a shop full of keys and locks

Our story

It started at a key counter

Ray Delgado spent twelve years at a Dayton hardware store cutting keys and listening to people’s worst days. In 2009 he bought a key machine, put it in his garage on Valley Street and answered the phone himself.

Carla joined him a year later and built the dispatch system that still runs on a whiteboard and a lot of coffee. Marcus rode along as a teenager, and now he programs car keys. Today there are four of us, plus an apprentice position we’re about to fill.

We’re small on purpose. When you call, you reach the same few people every time, and we’d rather do it right than do it fast and wrong.

What customers say

  • ★★★★★
“Locked myself out at 11 p.m. in a thin sweater. Ray was there in twenty-five minutes, got the door open without a scratch, and told me the price on the phone first. Exactly what it cost.”

  • ★★★★★
“Dropped my only key down a storm drain. The dealer wanted a tow and four days. Marcus cut and programmed a new one in my driveway in about an hour, for less.”

“Bought our first house and had no idea who had keys. Carla booked us the next morning and all five locks were rekeyed before lunch. They also fixed a deadbolt that never closed right.”
